The Center for Survey Research conducts research design consultation, telephone surveys, mail surveys, and web-based surveys, statistical analyses, and other vital data functions for virtually every area of social research, evaluation, and policy analysis. The CSR completes 50-65 research projects annually.

The Center for Survey Research completes research for faculty researchers from a variety of disciplines with grants and contracts awarded to the university; for civic, local, and regional governmental organizations; for state agencies, both in and outside of Virginia; for federally funded programs and agencies; for non-governmental and private sector organizations; and for the university administration via surveys related to campus life, policy, and institutional effectiveness.
